RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team earned one win in singles and one in doubles, but came up short in the conference match at UW-River Falls on Saturday.

Barbara Covek (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) earned a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles.
Katie Bechard (Sheboygan, Wis./North) played tough at No. 6 singles, but was on the losing end of a 6-4, 7-5 decision.
In doubles, UWSP's No. 1 pairing of
Jenna Koepp (Watertown, Wis./Watertown) and
Nancy Cozzi (Roselle, Ill./Lake Park) prevailed with an 8-6 win.
The Pointers face Lawrence and Alverno in the home opener on Sunday (Sept. 22) with matches at 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively. At University Courts.
