UWSP Swimming Comes up Short in Non-Conference Dual at Milwaukee

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - In the final regular season dual at Milwaukee, the UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving teams came up short on Saturday.  Both teams fell with a score of 69 for the women and 107 for the men.  
 
Results

Anna Pilecky (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) continued her win streak in the 1,000-yard freestyle.  She won the event with a time of 10:44.97, approximately 16 seconds faster than the runner-up.  She earned a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:20.83. 
 
Jess Posch (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) and Alexia Beecher (Black Creek, Wis./Shiocton) earned third- and fourth-place finishes in the three-meter diving event.  The diving pair earned scores of 177.90 and 132.60.  The divers also earned a fifth- and sixth-place finish with scores of 178.50 and 127.42 in the one-meter dive.    
 
Sydney Richetto (Wausau, Wis./East) earned a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.35. 
 
Haley Dees (Normal, Ill. /West) and Taylor Pehrson (Hanover, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville High School) went four-five in the 200-yard freestyle.  The duo earned times of 2:04.78 and 2:08.42. 
 
Ava Magee (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) and Kaylee Benson (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) finished in fourth and fifth in the 100-yard backstroke.  The backstroke duo earned times of 1:03.92 and 1:04.18. 
 
Libby Dammen (Milton, Wis./Milton) earned a fourth-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:23.52. 
 
Kyra Goedken (Green Bay, Wis. /Ashwaubenon) finished in fourth place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.93. 
 
Benson, Magee and Richetto swam the first, third and last leg of the 200-yard medley relay with Anna O'Malley (St. Charles, Ill./East).  The quartet earned a fifth-place finish with a time of 1:57.18.   
 
On the men's side, William Buhler (Racine, Wis./William Horlick) won the mixed 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.48.  Sam Young finished in third place with a time of 1:01.28. 
 
Matthew Inserra (Mount Prospect, Ill./Prospect) won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.01.  He also finished in third-place with a time of 21.96 in the 50-yard freestyle. 
 
Buhler swam the second leg of the 200-yard medley relay with Jacob Aegerter (Cross Plains, Wis./Middleton), Grant Moser (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) and Reilly Donnellan (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) that earned as second-place finish.  The group swam a time of 1:35.97, Donnellan swam the fastest leg of 21.07. 
 
Donnellan touched a time of 21.72 in the 50-yard freestyle, good for a second-place finish.
 
Cal Straub (Van Dyne, Wis./Appleton West) earned a second-place finish in the one-meter dive with a score of 182.55.
He earned an additional second-place finish in the three-meter diving event with a score of 137.62. 
 
Nate Somers earned a second-place finish in 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:06.38, which was a season-best time.  He earned an another second-place finish with a time of 4:49.42, which was a season-best time, in the 500-yard freestyle. 
 
Ryan McPherson (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Tartan) and Aegerter went two-three in the 200-yard butterfly.  The pair earned a time of 1:57.38 and 1:58.18. 
 
Caleb Vollmers (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) touched a time of 1:47.38 in the 200-yard freestyle, good for a third place. 
 
Zach Jorgenson and Jared Chatterton (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) earned third- and fourth-place finishes in the 200-yard backstroke.  The duo earned times of 2:02.72 and 2:02.85.      
 
Up next, the Pointers prepare for the WIAC Championships (presented by Culver's) on Feb. 14-16 in Brown Deer, Wis.
