Men Move Up to Second as UWSP Swimming Finishes Strong at Wheaton Invitational

WHEATON, Ill. - The UW-Stevens Point finished up their competition at the Wheaton Invitational. The men finished in second place and the women finished in fifth place in the seven-team competition.
 
Results
 
Alec Jeffers (Green Bay, Wis./Bay Port) won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 51.70. Caiden Kuehn (Eagan, Minn./Eagan) finished in eighth place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.57.
 
William Buhler (Racine, Wis./William Horlick) won the 100-yard breaststroke with a final time of 56.42. Ivan Newham (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) finished eighth place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 59.04.
 
Jacob Aegerter (Cross Plains, Wis./Middleton) won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 50.07. Aegerter also took second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:50.03.
 
Sam Young (Verona, Wis./Middleton) won the 400-yard IM with a final time of 4:01.40. Zach Jorgenson finished in fifth in the 400-yard IM with a time of 4:11.76 and Cam Harris took sixth with a time of 4:12.55.
 
The relay team of Jacob Larsen (Albany, Wis./Oregon), Buhler, Aegerter and Payton Kilian (Coon Rapids, Minn./Spring Lake Park) won the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:32.20. The relay team of Jeffers, Buhler, Aegerter and Kilian won the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 3:23.42.
 
The relay team of Owen Powell (Olney, Ill./Richland County), Kilian, Aegerter and Young finished second in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:05.01.
 
Young and Aegerter took second and third in the 200-yard IM. Young finished second with a time of 1:51.26 and Aegerter followed in third with a time of 1:51.37.
 
Young finished third in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:03.87. Buhler followed in fifth place with a time of 2:08.90.
 
Jeffers took fourth place in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:53.25. Cam Harris finished in seventh place in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:56.88
 
Kilian finished fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 46.46. Lennertz finished in sixth place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.23.
 
Kammermeier placed seventh in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.54.
 
Anna Pilecky (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) won the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:38.33. Pilecky also finished second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:07.44 and took third place in the 200-yard freestyle, swimming a time of 1:57.27.
 
Maddie Taylor (Rockford, Ill./East) finished fifth in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:31.76.
 
Maggie Liska (North St. Paul, Minn./Mahtomedi) placed sixth in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.67.
 
The relay team of Liska, Sydney Richetto (Wausau, Wis./East), Pilecky and Haley Dees (Normal, Ill./West) placed sixth in the 800-yard freestyle relay with a time of 8:03.40.
 
The relay team of Kaylee Benson (Elk River, Minn./Elk River), Taylor, Kyra Goedken (Green Bay, Wis./Ashwaubenon) and Liska finished eighth in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:51.18.
 
The Pointers will begin the second half of their season on January 3rd in a dual meet at UW-Oshkosh.
