LA CROSSE, Wis. – For the first time since 2007, the UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving teams suffered a dual loss on both the men's and women's side. The men fell with a score of 118.5 to UW-La Crosse's 122.5. The women fell with a score of 96 to 141.

Maggie Liska (North St. Paul, Minn. /Mahtomedi),
Kyra Goedken (Green Bay, Wis. /Ashwaubenon),
Ava Magee (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) and Sydney RIchetto won the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:46.29.
Anna Pilecky (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) won the 1,000-yard freestyle crown in a convincing fashion. She touched in a time of 10:40.30, 46.51 seconds faster than teammate
Haley Dees (Normal, Ill. /West), who was the runner-up. Dees earned her runner-up position with a time of 11:26.81. Pilecky also won the 500-yard freestyle crown with a time of 5:17.78 and Dees followed her with a time of 5:33.74.
Maddie Taylor (Rockford, Ill./East) earned her first collegiate win in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:39.65. Senior Hallee Fritsch followed in the runner-up position with a time of 2:42.16.
Kaylee Benson (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) and
Hannah Flak (Wittenberg, Wis./Wittenberg-Birnamwood) earned top-five finishes in the 200-yard backstroke. Benson earned a time of 2:18.89, good for a second-place finish. Flak finished in third with a time of 2:19.70, good for a third-place finish.
Benson also opened up the 400-yard medley relay Brenna Ruffolo,
Ava Magee (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) and
Sydney Richetto (Wausau, Wis./East) finish in second in the 400-yard medley relay. The quartet earned a time of 4:16.21.
Richetto picked up a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:02.83.
Liska and Goedken earned top-5 finishes in the 50-yard freestyle. Liska finished in third place with a time of 25.92. Goedken finished in fifth place with a time of 26.35.
Libby Dammen (Milton, Wis./Milton) and
Taylor Pehrson (Hanover, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville High School) went three-four in the 200-yard butterfly. The freshman-senior duet went 2:21.31 and 2:27.64.
Jess Posch (New Lenox, Ill./Lincoln-Way Central) earned a fifth-place finish in the one-meter diving event with a score of 191.80.
Alexia Beecher (Black Creek, Wis./Shiocton) followed her in sixth place with a score of 140.75. Posch and Beecher also earned the same finishes in the three-meter diving event, finishing with scores of 220.95 and 149.55.
On the men's side,
Ryan McPherson (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Tartan) won the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:56.51, 5.62 seconds faster than runner-up Zach Jorgenson. McPherson also earned a third-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:48.15.
Sam Young won the 200-yard IM crown with a time of 1:57.25, 3.27 seconds faster than the UW-La Crosse finisher. Young also finished in second with a time of 2:10.93 in the 200-yard breaststroke.
Jacob Aegerter (Cross Plains, Wis./Middleton) won the 1,000-meter freestyle, also in a convincing fashion. He earned a time of 10:10.91. Nate Somers and
Michael Mills (Fox Point, Wis./Nicolet) went three-four with times of 10:32.19 and 10:33.10. Aegerter also earned a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:52.63.
Alec Jeffers (Green Bay, Wis. /Bay Port) finished in second place in the 200-yard backstroke, touching a time of 1:58.06.
Reilly Donnellan (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) touched a time of 21.37, good for a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle. Donnellan also placed fourth in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 49.95.

Ryan McPherson (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Tartan) and
Matthew Inserra (Mount Prospect, Ill./Prospect) teamed up in the 400-yard medley relay for a second-place finish. The group of four touched a time of 3:32.94.
Grant Moser (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) earned a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:45.54. Moser also earned a runner-up position in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.78.
Cal Straub (Van Dyne, Wis./Appleton West),
Steven Novinska (Greendale, Wis./Greendale), Maxwell Schauer and
Benjamin Schutt (McFarlane, Wis./McFarlane ) went two-three-four-five in the three-meter diving event. The four freshmen earned scores of 185.90, 159.55, 156.75 and 102.00. Straub, Schauer, Novinska and Schutt went two-three-four-five in the one-meter diving event, finishing with scores of 164.65, 158.75, 122.10 and 119.15.
The Pointers head to Milwaukee, Wis. to take on Milwaukee on Saturday (Feb. 2) at 1:00 p.m.
