APPLETON, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team (2-7) dropped a close 5-4 decision to host Lawrence (3-6) before taking down a short-handed Alverno (0-6) squad by a 6-3 score.
UWSP 4, LU 5 – Box Score
Anna Dobbe (Stoddard, Wis./Onalaska Luther) continued to play well earning a 6-3, 6-2 win in the no. 2 singles. She paired with
Angelica Hernandez (Blue Island, Ill./Dwight D. Eisenhower) to win the No. 2 doubles, 8-5.
Hernandez also picked up a singles win at No. 4 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory.
UWSP's No. 1 doubles pairing of
Leah Hollander (Portage, Wis./Portage) and
Kaylee Woelfel (Plymouth,Wis/Plymouth) earned an 8-4 win to round out the Pointers' scoring.

Dobbe and Hernandez got an 8-1 win in the No. 2 doubles and UWSP got a point by forfeit in the No. 3 doubles.
Hollander won a tight 7-5, 6-3 No. 1 singles match. Hernandez cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4 and
Lea Beckman (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) won by a 6-1, 6-0 score at No. 5. UWSP again earned a point via forfeit at No. 6 singles.
The Pointers head to UW-Whitewater on Wednesday (Sept. 26) in conference action. The match is slated to begin at 3:30 p.m.
