ST. PETER, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving team won 12 events at the tri-dual against Minnesota State-Mankato and Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday. UWSP's men defeated Gustavus, 1246 to 1143. The Pointers' women's team earned 527.5 points to finish third.
Results
Alec Jeffers (Green Bay, Wis. /Bay Port) finished the 100-yard backstroke in 52.80 seconds to win the event by more than a second. Jeffers also won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:58.83.
The quartet of
Jacob Aegerter (Cross Plains, Wis./Middleton),
William Buhler (Racine, Wis./William Horlick),
Grant Moser (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) and
Reilly Donnellan (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) won the 200-yard medley relay by nearly two seconds with a time of 1:35.57.
Aegerter placed first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:57.20.
Ryan McPherson (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Tartan) was a close second at 1:57.85. Aegerter also won the 400-yard IM ahead of teammate Sam Young with times of 4:16.61 and 4:17.89.
Donnellan picked up another win in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 21.29. Teammates
Riley Patton (Madison, Wis./Memorial) and Moser placed tied for second and fourth with times of 21.75 and 21.99, respectively.
Payton Kilian (Coon Rapids, Minn./Spring Lake Park) won the 200-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 1:46.10. He edged out teammate Aegerter, who timed in at 1:46.66.
Michael Mills (Fox Point, Wis./Nicolet) timed a 5:03.06 in the 500-yard freestyle to win the event.
Jacob Adamski (Mason City, Iowa/Mason City) took second at 5:08.47 and Kilian came in fourth at 5:08.90.
Moser topped a trio of finishers in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 50.54. McPherson and Donnellan came in right behind at 52.55 and 56.22 for second and third, respectively.

Matthew Inserra (Mount Prospect, Ill./Prospect) won the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:12.05.
Buhler,
Ivan Newham (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) and Young took places two, three and four in the 100-yard breaststroke. Their times were 1:00.11, 1:00.86 and 1:01.20, respectively. Young and Newham went two-three in the 200-yard backstroke with times of 2:11.16 and 2:15.60.
Adamski and Caleb Moon went two-three in the 1000-yard freestyle with times of 10:26.21 and 10:39.47, respectively
Patton and Kilian took third and fourth in the 100-yard freestyle. Patton's time was 48.40 with Kilian finishing at 49.28.
For the women,
Anna Pilecky (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) won a pair of events. She dominated the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:47.44, 15 seconds better than the runner-up. Pilecky finished first in the 500-yard freestyle by more than five seconds at 5:19.38.
Anna O'Malley (St. Charles, Ill./East) also had a strong showing with a second-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle. Her time was 2:01.37. O'Malley turned in a third-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:19.17. She also placed third in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:01.77.
The 400-yard freestyle relay of
Maggie Liska (North St. Paul, Minn. /Mahtomedi),
Sydney Richetto (Wausau, Wis./East),
Haley Dees (Normal, Ill. /West) and Pilecky came in third with a time of 3:50.11.
Ava Magee (Oregon, Wis./Oregon) placed fifth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:03.17.
Kaylee Benson (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) pocketed a fifth-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:20.15.
The Pointers are back home next Saturday (Nov. 10) for a dual against Northern Michigan. The first event is slated to begin at 2:00 p.m.
