UWSP Swimming Wins Four Events in Dual with Northern Michigan

STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving teams won four events, but fell in a non-conference dual with Northern Michigan University on Saturday.  The men recorded 119 points and the women gathered 85.
 
Results 
 
For a second week in a row, Anna Pilecky (DeForest, Wis./DeForest) won the 1,000-yard freestyle.  She clocked in a time of 10:43.45.  Pilecky also later finished in second place in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:20.90. 
 
Anna O'Malley (St. Charles, Ill./East) finished in second place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:01.11. 
 
Freshman Libby Dammen (Milton, Wis./Milton) finished in second place in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:22.72.  
 
Sydney Richetto (Wausau, Wis./East) earned a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle.  The sophomore freestyler earned a time of 26.05. 
 
Breanna Ruffolo (Manitowoc, Wis./Lincoln) and Grace Gundrum (Pewaukee, Wis./Catholic Memorial) went two-three in the 100-yard backstroke.  The swimmers finished with times of 1:12.31 and 1:14.29.  Gundrum later came in second in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:38.70. 
 
O'Malley, Richetto, Maggie Liska (North St. Paul, Minn. /Mahtomedi) and Pilecky finished in second place in the 400-yard freestyle.  The quartet finished with a time of 3:46.03. 
 
The team of Ava Magee (Oregon, Wis./Oregon), Gundrum, O'Malley and Richetto earned a third-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.  The quartet finished with a time of 1:54.81. 
 
Kaylee Benson (Elk River, Minn./Elk River) earned a third-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 1:04.31.  Magee, Murron Roff (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) and Hannah Flak (Wittenberg, Wis./Wittenberg-Birnamwood) all finished sixth, seventh, and eighth with times of 1:05.67, 1:06.02 and 1:07.85. 
 
Jess Posh earned a fifth-place finish in the one-meter diving event.  She recorded a score of 208.20. 
 
For the men, Reilly Donnellan (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) won the 50-yard freestyle.  The NCAA championships veteran earned a time of 21.51.  Teammate Riley Patton (Madison, Wis./Memorial) finished in third place with a time of 22.23.  
 
Michael Mills (Fox Point, Wis./Nicolet) won the 500-yard freestyle.  He swam a time of 5:02.18, one second separating him and the second-place finisher.  
 
Maxwell Schauer won the three-meter diving event with a score of 156.20. 
 
Brandon Donaldson (Andalusia, Ala./Andalusia) finished in second place in the one-meter diving event.  He finished with a score of 166.75. 
 
Jacob Aegerter (Cross Plains, Wis./Middleton), William Buhler (Racine, Wis./William Horlick), Grant Moser (St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville) and Reilly Donnellan (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) finished in second place in the 200-yard medley relay.  The group clocked a time of 1:35.92. 
 
Sam Young touched a second-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke.  The freshman earned a time of 2:11.08. 
 
Ryan McPherson (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Tartan) and Payton Kilian (Coon Rapids, Minn./Spring Lake Park) went two-three in the 200-yard freestyle.  The freestylers touched times of 1:48.63 and 1:49.10.  Michael Mills (Fox Point, Wis./Nicolet) followed up with a fifth-place finish and a time of 1:50.26. 
 
Ivan Newham (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial), Young, Buhler, Jared Larson (Newport Beach, Calif./SPASH) and Jackson Aton (Berlin, Wis./Berlin) went three-four-five-six-seven in the 100-yard backstroke.  The group finished with times ranging between 1:00.33 and 1:03.71.  
 
Will Nelson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie), Cole Moon (DeKalb, Ill./Homeschooled) and Caleb Vollmers (Milwaukee, Wis./Wauwatosa West) went five-six-seven in the 1,000-yard freestyle relay.  The trio freestylers finished with times of 10:47.55, 10:48.27 and 11:01.27.  
 
Up next, the Pointers battle UW-Whitewater in a conference dual on Saturday (Nov. 17) at Whitewater.  The first race starts at 1:00 p.m.
