Angelica Hernandez (Blue Island, Ill./Dwight D. Eisenhower) won a tiebreaker and earned a straight-sets victory, but the UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team (2-9, 0-5) fell in conference action, 8-1, to UW-Oshkosh (4-2, 2-2) on Thursday.

Hernandez won the tiebreaker to take the opening set of her No. 4 singles match, 7-6. She followed up with a 6-1 win in the second set to help UWSP avoid the shutout.
In the No. 5 singles,
Lea Beckman (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) challenged her opponent, but lost by a 7-5, 6-2 score.
The Pointers travel to Milwaukee on Saturday (Oct. 6) to face North Park and MSOE at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., respectively.
