MADISON, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team had a better showing on day two of the WIAC Championships and finished seventh.
Results
The doubles pairing of
Lea Beckman (Merrill, Wis./Merrill) and
Rebecca Goska (Green Bay, Wis./Preble) earned an 8-4 win over UW-Stout in the second round of the No. 3 doubles. The duo dropped an 8-1 decision against UW-Oshkosh in the fifth-place match to come in sixth.
Anna Dobbe (Stoddard, Wis./Onalaska Luther) advanced to the fifth-place match by injury default in the second round. She fell to UWO's Hannah Peters in the No. 2 doubles, 6-3, 6-4, to place sixth.
Dobbe and
Angelica Hernandez (Blue Island, Ill./Dwight D. Eisenhower) battled to an 8-6 loss in the second round of the No. 2 doubles on day two.
The Pointers fall competition has ended. The next scheduled match is on Sunday, April 14 at Ripon College.
