STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving teams split a dual with visiting UW-La Crosse on Saturday. The men won 162-79 while the women dropped the dual by a 159.5-81.5 score.

Sam Jekel (Fitchburg, Wis./Madison West),
Reilly Donnellan (Neenah, Wis./Neenah),
Grant Moser (St. Michael, Minn./) and
Jack Englehardt (Madison, Wis./West) won the 400-yard medley relay by nearly seven seconds with a time of 3:27.34. Englehardt,
Jacob Aegerter (Cross Plains, Wis./), Moser and Jekel took the top spot in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:08.39.
Englehardt and
Reilly Donnellan (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) finished one-two in the 500-yard freestyle with both finishing in under 21 seconds. Aegerter and Zach Jorgenson placed one-two in the 200-yard IM with times of 1:59.00 and 2:00.48, respectively.
Aegerter, Moser and
Austin Teunissen (Bismarck, N.D./Bismarck) took the top-three spots in the 200-yard butterfly. Jekel won the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 46.53 and the Pointers filled slots third through sixth in the event.
Owen Gluck (West Bend, Wis./East) and
Evan Plummer (Eau Claire, Wis./) finished in the top two spots of the three-meter diving event. The divers each finished with scores of 297.15 and 266.85, respectively. The duo also secured the top two slots in the one-meter event with Gluck's winning score of 282.05.
Teunissen,
Jacob Adamski (Mason City, Iowa/Mason City),
Michael Mills (Fox Point, Wis./Nicolet) and
Will Nelson (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) dominated the top four spots of the 1,000-yard freestyle with times between 10:22.46 and 10:42.29.
Garrett Richetto (Wausau, Wis./East) and Payton Kilian went two-three in the 200-yard freestyle with times of 1:45.72 and 1:49.19. Kilian also earned a second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:00.78.
Ivan Newham (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) and
William Buhler (Racine, Wis./William Horlick) finished in second and third place in the 200-yard breaststroke. The freshman swimmers touched with times of 2:17.12 and 2:22.95.
On the women's side,
Anna O'Malley (St. Charles, Ill./) took first in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:13.36 and in the 500-yard freestyle with a finish of 5:28.33.
Erica Perkins (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Century High School) also earned an event win with a first-place finish in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:20.88.
Sydney Richetto (Wausau, Wis./East) won the 100-yard freestyle by just 0.01 seconds at 57.15. Richetto also swam a time of 2:07.64 in the 200-yard freestyle, good for a third-place finish.
Jackie Braun (Sauk Rapids, Minn./) finished with a pair of second-place finishes in the one- and three-meter diving events. The senior diver finished with final scores of 253.40 and 220.20.
Kaylee Benson (Elk River, Minn./Elk River), Perkins, O'Malley and Richetto finished in second place in the 400-yard medley relay. The group touched with a time of 4:11.92.
Sam James finished in third place in the 1,000-yard freestyle. She clocked in with a time of 12:07.40.
Kassie Yeazel (Whitewater, Wis./) touched with a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle. Her time of 27.03, was less than a second behind the winner.
The Pointers return to the UWSP Aquatics Center to host UW-Milwaukee in the final regular dual of the year on Friday (Feb. 2). The meet is slated to begin at 5:00 p.m.
