Men Roll to Win at Point Invite, O’Malley Leads Women

Stevens Point, Wis.-The UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving teams wrapped up the Point Invite on Saturday.  The men won the three-team field with a total score of 1,368.  The women finished in fourth place with 494 points. 
 
Results
 
Sam Jekel (Fitchburg, Wis./Madison West), Reilly Donnellan (Neenah, Wis./Neenah), Brandon Richardson (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Michael Academy) and Jack Englehardt (Madison, Wis./West) finished with a time of 1:33.16 in the 200-yard medley relay, good for a first-place finish.  Englehardt and Richardson also teamed up with Grant Moser (St. Michael, Minn./) and Garrett Richetto (Wausau, Wis./East) in the 400-yard freestyle relay.  The group finished in first place with a time of 3:11.50.     
 
Englehardt and Donnellan earned the top two spots of the 50-yard freestyle.  Each swimmer swimming a time of 20.84 and 21.13. 
 
Zach Jorgenson and Caleb Meixner (Sun Prairie, Wis./Sun Prairie) went one-two in the 400-yard IM.  The duo finish with times of 4:21.26 and 4:26.46. 
 
Richetto, Payton Kilian and Jacob Aegerter (Cross Plains, Wis./) dominated the top three spots in the 200-yard freestyle.  They finished with times of 1:46.91, 1:46.93 and 1:47.49, respectively. 
 
On the women's side, Anna O'Malley (St. Charles, Ill./) tallied a first-place finish in the 200-yard freestyle.  The freshman swimmer finished with a time of 2:00.23. 
 
Kaylee Benson (Elk River, Minn./Elk River), Erica Perkins (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Century High School), O'Malley and Sydney Richetto (Wausau, Wis./East) finished in fourth place in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:55.99. 
 
Perkins picked up a ninth-place finish in the 400-yard IM.  She finished with a time of 5:07.16. 
 
Breanna Ruffolo (Manitowoc, Wis./) finished in ninth place in the 100-yard breaststroke.  She timed in at 1:13.30. 
 
The Pointers host UW-La Crosse in a dual meet on Jan. 27 (Sat.).  The meet is slated to begin at 1:00 p.m. at the UWSP Aquatics Center.
