MENOMONIE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team dropped its WIAC opening match, 7-2, at UW-Stout Friday afternoon.

UW-Stout (2-2) used a pair of doubles wins and five singles victories to defeat UWSP (2-2).
The doubles pair of
Anna Dobbe (Stoddard, Wis./Onalaska Lutheran) and
Elizabeth Wilichowski (Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton) defeated Sutton Beck and Ellen Miller, 8-5, for UWSP and earning the team's first point of the day. The duo has won three-of-four matches this season including back-to-back wins.
In singles play,
Erin Lemmer (Wausau, Wis./East) picked up the Pointers' lone victory, defeating Gabe Kelch, 6-0 and 6-0.
UW-Stevens Point will open the home half of its season hosting Lawrence University and MSOE on Sept. 24
