STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team knocked off non-conference opponent Marian, 7-2, on Wednesday afternoon at University Courts.

UWSP (5-4) used a pair of doubles wins and five singles wins to roll to a 7-2 victory over Marian (7-6).
The doubles pair of Erin Lemmer (Wausau, Wis./East) and Abbey Johnson (Black River Falls, Wis./Black River Falls) defeated Kyrsten Bruce and Celeste Degeneffe, 8-2, for the first UWSP point of the day. Anna Dobbe (Stoddard, Wis./Onalaska Luther) and Elizabeth Wilichowski (Sussex, Wis./Sussex-Hamilton) followed, knocking off Alyssa Ostrowski and Erica Counter, 8-3.
In singles play, the trio of Kleist, Lemmer and Johnson put together a string of three-straight wins to secure the UWSP victory. Dobbe and Wilichowski rounded the scoring for the Pointers, each winning in straight sets.
UWSP will return to conference play, traveling to UW-Oshkosh tomorrow (Oct. 5). The match is slated for a 3:00 p.m. start time.
