MADISON, Wis.— The UW-Stevens Point women's tennis team finished sixth at the WIAC Championships on Sunday at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium. The Pointers were aided by fifth-place finishes by the doubles team of Erin Lemmer (Wausau, Wis./East) and Kaylee Roberts (Baraboo, Wis./Baraboo), and two individuals.

The duo of Lemmer and Roberts rebounded after a first round loss, by defeating UW-Stout's Annie Sandry and Janna Welke, 8-5, in the No. 2 doubles fifth-place match.
 
In singles play, Lemmer placed for the second time, defeating UW-Stout's Katie Kreilbich in straight sets, winning 6-0 and 6-1.
 
In No. 3 singles, Abbey Johnson (Black River Falls, Wis./Black River Falls) won a third set tiebreaker, 10-5, earning her fifth place.
 
The Pointers finish the season with a 7-7 overall record, with a 1-5 mark in WIAC play.
