MOUNT VERNON, Iowa – The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team suffered a pair of defeats at the Ram Duals on Saturday.  The Pointers fell to Luther, 27-6, in the early dual and lost to host No. 19 Cornell College later in the day, 39-9.

Sophomore Donnie Ralston earned a pair of decision wins to highlight the day for the Pointers.  In the first dual, he eked out a 5-4 decision over Clayton Jennings.  In the nightcap, Ralston defeated Cornell's Tyler Ortmann, 4-1.

Senior Logan Hermsen (Amherst Junction, WI/Amherst) shut out Luther's Tristan Zurfluh, 2-0, in his lone match of the day.  Junior Cody Nielsen (Oconto Falls, WI/Oconto Falls) pinned Cornell's Joseph Keller in 2:08, the only fall of the day for UWSP.

The Pointers travel to Elmhurst, Ill., next Saturday (Jan. 14) to compete in the Al Hanke Invitational before returning home for conference action against UW-Eau Claire on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 7:00 p.m.
