DUBUQUE, Iowa – The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team defeated host University of Dubuque by a 22-20 margin after falling to Loras College earlier in the day.

Sophomore Moziah Clark (Madison, WI/Madison East) recorded a fall at the 7:11 mark of his match in the 125 weight class against Dubuque.  Junior Joe Crook (Spring Green, WI/River Valley) won by fall at the 1:17 mark against UD in the 157 weight class. 

At 165, freshman Jordan Weinzetl (Kimberly, WI/Kimberly) earned a major decision victory, 13-1.  Senior Logan Hermsen (Amherst Junction, WI/Amherst) and sophomore Donny Ralston (Ladysmith, WI/Bruce) won the 174 and 285 classes by 7-2 and 6-1 decisions.

Against Loras, Ralston picked up a fall at 4:01 and Weinzetl pinned his opponent at 5:56 for UWSP.

The Pointers also sent wrestlers to the Dan Gable Open in Oshkosh.  Senior Boone Roycraft (Omro, WI/Winneconne) and junior Jaden Boivin (Marinette, WI/Marinette) each placed second for UWSP.  Taran Holland (Princeton, WI/Princeton ) had three wins by fall to place fifth at 165.  Dominic Gunderson (Hortonville, WI/Shiocton) placed sixth in the 285 weight class.  Graysen Sorensen (Anchorage, AK/Grace Christian), Steven Collins, Ross Agg (Oak Creek, WI/Oak Creek) and Steve Anderson all had falls in the event.
