OSHKOSH, Wis. –
Anthony Friese (Hortonville, WI/Waupaca) and
Bo Seibel (Cambellsport, WI/Kewaskum) posted runner-up finishes on Sunday afternoon to pace UW-Stevens Point to a third place finish at the 60
th annual Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Wrestling Championship, hosted by UW-Oshkosh.

Results The Pointers collected 109.5 team points at the event for the third place showing. UW-Stevens Point has finished third or better for 23 straight seasons, including three back-to-back-to-back championships in 1995, 1996 and 1997.
UW-Whitewater, ranked No. 2 in the nation, captured its fourth consecutive championship with 162.5 points and UW-La Crosse, ranked fourth in the country, finished second with 138.5 points. UW-Platteville finished fourth with 59 points, UW-Oshkosh fifth with 45 points and UW-Eau Claire sixth with 40.5 points.
Ben Vosters (Hatley, WI/Wittenberg-Birnamwood) (125), Joe Cook (149),
Logan Hermsen (Amherst Junction, WI/Amherst) (165) and
Dylan Diebitz (West Allis, WI/Central) (174) each posted third place finishes for the Pointers on the afternoon while
Austin Worachek (Casco, WI/Luxemburg-Casco),
Mitchell Lambrecht (Sheboygan Falls, WI/Sheboygan Falls) and
Dan Squires (Muskego, WI/Wisconsin Lutheran) finished with fourth-place finishes.
Kane Seubert (Marshfield, WI/Marshfield),
Michael Bannach (Wrightstown, WI/Wrightstown) and
Joey Seitz (Cambellsport, WI/Kewaskum) posted fifth place finishes.
At 157-pounds, Friese posted back-to-back wins over Isaac Brosinskii (UWP) 11-3 and Derek Weinmann (UWL) 7-4 to advance to the championship match against Tommy Gerszewski (UWW), ranked 10th in the country. Friese fell to Gerszewski posted a tech fall over Friese in the championship match (15-0, 5:56).
Seibel posted decisions of 4-0 and 12-7 at heavyweight on his way to the championship match before falling to Anthony Edgren (UWW), ranked seventh in the country.
The Pointers close out dual meet action on Friday, Feb. 20, hosting a match-up against No. 5 Augsburg College. Four of Augsburg's wrestlers are ranked in the top-10 including the nation's top-ranked wrestler at 125-pounds.
