MEQUON, Wis. – Logan Hermsen (Amherst Junction, WI/Amherst), Ben Vosters (Hatley, WI/Wittenberg-Birnamwood) and Clay Lieber (Nekoosa, WI/Nekoosa) all placed in their respective weight classes on Saturday to pace the UW-Stevens Point wrestling team at the grueling Concordia (Wis.) Open.
 
Hermsen started the day with four straight wins including three pins and a decision over national qualifier Tom Gerszewski of Whitewater before falling 5-2 in the finals to Nick Michael of Wartburg, finishing as runner-up in the 32-man bracket.
 
Vosters ended the day with a 5-1 record, finishing third of 30 wrestlers at 125-pounds. Also at 125, freshman Clay Lieber (Nekoosa, WI/Nekoosa) went 5-2 en route to a fifth-place finish.
 
Despite not placing, Boone Roycraft (Omro, WI/Winneconne) finished his day with four wins.
 
Dominic Gunderson (Hortonville, WI/Shiocton), Bo Seibel (Cambellsport, WI/Kewaskum) and Dan Squires (Muskego, WI/Wisconsin Lutheran) were all 3-2 on the day. Squires' wins included a gutsy win against a returning national qualifier. 
 
The Pointers return home for a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual on Wednesday, Dec. 2. Action gets underway in Berg Gym at 7 p.m.
