Kyle McHugh (Polonia, WI/Rosholt) slugged two home runs to carry the fifth-ranked UW-Stevens Point baseball team to a 5-1 victory against Denison on Thursday morning.

McHugh hit a three-run home run to left in the bottom of the fifth to break open a 1-1 tie and a solo blast to center in the seventh to end the scoring for the Pointers (8-1). Dension (2-6) managed just four hits in the game against
Zach Wendorf (Merrill, WI/Merrill) and
Brad Stroik (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH).
Wendorf pitched seven innings of one-run ball to pick up his first win of the season. The senior allowed three hits, did not walk a batter and struck out seven in the game. Stroik threw the final two innings, allowing two base runners and striking out five.
Bobby Gregorich (Plover, WI/SPASH) and
Harry Steldt (West Bend, WI/West) each tallied two hits for UWSP. McHugh finished the day 2-for-4 with two runs and four RBI, all on the pair of home runs, his second and third of the season.
