STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team closed out the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) portion of its schedule on Friday night, falling 30-6 to the visiting Eagles of UW-La Crosse.

The Pointers found themselves facing an early deficit, as the Eagles tallied victories at 125, 133, 141 and 149, building a 13-0 advantage.

Jamey Simmons (Abbotsford, WI/Abbotsford) tallied one of the two Pointers victories at 157, a 6-0 decision over RJ Dilcher of UW-La Crosse.

The Eagles with four more victories before Dustin Wozniak (Stanley, WI/Stanley-Boyd) tallied the other victory for UWSP, a 4-2 decision over Mike Minske.

The Pointers (8-11, 2-3 WIAC) are next in action at the 2014 WIAC Championships, hosted by UW-La Crosse on Feb. 15. Action from La Crosse begins at 9 a.m.
