OSHKOSH, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team had three individuals post runner-up finishes on Saturday afternoon in action at the Dan Gable Endowment Wrestling Open at the Kolf Sports Center.
ResultsMichael Bannach (Wrightstown, WI/Wrightstown) finished as the runner-up at 125-pounds in a round robin battle against Harper College's Zach McCallough.
John Roycraft (Omro, WI/Winneconne) finished as the runner-up at 157-pounds, going 3-1 before falling to NJCCA Nationals qualifier Blake Tisza of Harper College.
Mitchell Lamberecht went 3-1 on the day, finishing as runner-up at 165, posting two pins and a major decision.
Carter Focht (Pine Springs, MN/Mahtomedi) finished fourth at 157-pounds, posting a 4-2 record, battling back through the wrestleback bracket after an opening round defeat.
Elsewhere for the Pointers,
Dominic Gunderson (Hortonville, WI/Shiocton) went 2-2 and
Tanner Goddard (Green Bay, WI/Ashwaubenon) went 1-2.
UW-Stevens Point next hosts UW-Parkside on Wednesday, Nov. 19 in dual meet action at 7 p.m. in Berg Gym.
