HANOVER, Ind. – Alex Gonzales (West Allis, WI/West Allis) posted a time of 26:31 to pace the UW-Stevens Point men's cross country team to a fourth place showing at the Madison Kiwanis Cross Country Invitational.

Gonzales finished 12th overall in the field 155.

Michael Moore (LaGrange, IL/Lyons Township) finished 20th with a 27:09, Stephen Nelson (Waukegon, IL/Waukegon) finished 41st with a time of 28:07, Dan Sullivan (Elkhorn, WI/Elkhorn) 42nd with a time of 28:08, Dennis Haak (Belleville, WI/Verona) 49th with a 28:42 and David Hebert (Iron River, MI/West Iron County) 53rd with a time of 28:48. Ben Jurenec also ran in the meet, finishing with a time of 29:31, good for 72nd.

The Pointers return to action Sept. 14 in Stevens Point, playing host to Carthage and former Pointers at the annual Alumni Meet at Iverson Park.
