ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Top-20 finishes from Dan Sullivan (Elkhorn, WI/Elkhorn) and Alex Gonzales (West Allis, WI/West Allis) helped lead the UW-Stevens Point men's cross country team to a fifth place finish in the 2013 Brissman/Lundeen Cross Country Invitational held at Saukie Golf Course on Friday.

Sullivan was the top UWSP finisher in a time of 25:54.4. Only one runner separated Sullivan and Gonzales, who completed the race in 25:56.5. Evan Cooper (Delafield, WI/Kettle Moraine) (23rd), Dennis Haak (Belleville, WI/Verona) (42nd), and Michael Moore (LaGrange, IL/Lyons Township) (49th) rounded out the top five for the Pointers. Cooper was just two hundredths of a second behind Gonzales.

UWSP earned a total of 148 points, which placed them behind The University of Chicago (45), Augustana (101), Loras (110), and Grinnell (135). The University of Chicago had each of their five point-scorers in the top 15 runners.

The next race for the Pointers is the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, October 4 in South Bend, Indiana.
