STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The final regular season game in the history of the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) did not go the Pointers way on Saturday night, as St. Norbert College skated to 3-1 victory over UW-Stevens Point at K.B. Willett Arena.

The Pointers (14-10-1, 8-9-1 NCHA) were the beneficiaries of a St. Scholastica loss, securing the No. 3 seed in the upcoming playoffs. UWSP will host UW-River Falls in the #3 vs. #6 match-up next Friday and Saturday, Feb. 15-16 at K.B. Willett Arena.

The Green Knights struck first, taking the 1-0 lead at the 18:52 mark of the opening period.
In the second, St. Norbert added its second goal of the night, scoring at the 9:50 mark to take the 2-0 lead.
Kyle Heck (Plover, WI/SPASH) made things interesting in the third, scoring on the power play at the 14:32 mark to cut the deficit in half, 2-1.
In the final minute, SNC put the game out of reach, scoring an empty net goal with less than a second remaining to secure the 3-1 victory.
