STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Whitewater took control early and UW-Stevens Point could not recover, falling to the 14th-ranked Warhawks 29-7 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) action Thursday evening.

The Pointers tallied two victories, coming at 141 and 174-pounds. At 141, Jared Kust (Shawano, WI/Shawano) posted an 8-3 win over UWW's Maxx Hubbard and Bill Langford (Westosha, WI/Westosha Central) posted a 10-0 major decision victory over TJ Decker.

Ryan Osse (Wheat Ridge, CO/Wheat Ridge) battled Conrad Bugay to a second sudden victory period, but fell 10-8 in the evening's closest match-up. Logan Hermsen (Amherst Junction, WI/Amherst) and Jordan Koranda (Marshfield, WI/Marshfield) each went the distance in their matches but each was three points short of a victory.

The Pointers (2-3, 0-2 WIAC) head to La Crosse, Wis., on Saturday for the Candlewood Suites Duals, hosted by UW-La Crosse. The Pointers, ranked No. 21 in the latest NWCA poll, will face 18th-ranked St. John's (MN), 25th-ranked Cornell (IA) and 22nd-ranked Loras (IA). The day's first dual is set for a 9 a.m. start.
