NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The UW-Stevens Point men's cross country team ran to a 19th-place finish at the 2013 Notre Dame Cross Country Invitational held at Notre Dame Golf Course on Friday.
Results
The Pointers competed in the gold division, which is a mix of 23 NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA teams. UWSP finished with 561 points, while Grand Valley State ran away with the team title with 40 points. UW-Oshkosh, the only other Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) team in the invitational, was tenth.
Michael Moore (LaGrange, IL/Lyons Township) had the best time for UW-Stevens Point, followed closely by
Alex Gonzales (West Allis, WI/West Allis). Moore's time of 27:21.7 was good for 99th overall. Gonzales (105th) finished just outside the top 100 in 27:25.8.Â
Lukas Johnston (132nd),
Michael Evans (Reedsville, WI/Valders) (143rd), and
James Heroux (Sturgeon Bay, WI/Sevastopol) (145th) rounded out the five scores for UWSP.
The next scheduled race for the Pointers is the Oshkosh "Brooks" Invitational on Oct. 19.
