WILLIAMSBURG, Pa. – The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team claimed the 25th Annual Budd Whitehill Division III Wrestling Dual Championship when it won both of its matches in the second day of the duals.

After finishing 3-0 Friday, the Pointers defeated York College 25-11 and topped Messiah College 18-16 Saturday.

Dustin Wozniak (Stanley, WI/Stanley-Boyd) won via pin at 197 pounds against York. Wozniak also won the Messiah match with a 3-1 decision.

Wozniak won four of his five duals matches via pin.

Jordan Koranda (Marshfield, WI/Marshfield) won both of his matches at 285 pounds when he beat his York counterpart 9-4 and topped his Messiah opponent 3-1.

Ryan Conat (New London, WI/New London) also came away with two victories at 174 pounds. Conat won the York match 3-1 and followed with a 6-1 victory over Messiah.

Lance Fabry (Ashwaubenon, WI/Ashwaubenon) was the other Pointer to win both matches Saturday. At 125 pounds Fabry defeated his York opponent 9-6 and topped his Messiah opponent 6-1. 

UWSP returns home Tuesday, Jan. 22 when it hosts UW-Parkside at  7 p.m.
