WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team won all three of its matches Friday in day one of the Budd Whitehill Division III National Duals hosted by Lycoming College.
Results
The Pointers began the day with a 21-14 win over Waynesburg University.
Ryan Osse (Wheat Ridge, CO/Wheat Ridge) and
Dustin Wozniak (Stanley, WI/Stanley-Boyd) each won by pin fall and
Ryan Conat (New London, WI/New London) earned a win by sudden victory.
Jordan Kust (Clintonville, WI/Shawano) earned a win for the Pointers with a 4-3 decision at 141 pounds, and
Shane Sweeney (Madison, WI/Edgewood) followed with an 8-2 win at 149 pounds.
The Pointers continued to roll with a 32-12 win over the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
Kust won with a 13-3 major decision and
Jordan Schulte (Mosinee, WI/Mosinee) also came out on top with an 11-1 major decision at 165 pounds.
Wozniak and Conat each won via pin fall.
Lance Fabry (Ashwaubenon, WI/Ashwaubenon) earned a 6-4 win at 125 pounds and
Ben Strobel (Neenah, WI/Neenah) won 7-2 at 157 pounds.
UWSP closed out the day with a 26-15 win over John Carroll University.
Schulte,
Jordan Koranda (Marshfield, WI/Marshfield), and Wozniak each won by pin fall.
Fabry earned a 4-0 decision while Kust and Conat earned a 6-0 and 5-2 victory, respectively.
Wozniak won all three of his matches via pin.
The Pointers close out the Budd Whitehill Duals Saturday, Jan. 12.
