MEQUON, Wis. – Kati Long (Green Bay, WI/Preble) posted a time of 26:17 to finish in 45th place as the UW-Stevens Point women's cross country team officially opened the season on Saturday afternoon with a ninth-place showing at the 20th Annual Concordia Invitational.

Results

Long paced a group of Pointers that placed five runners in the top 57 of the field of 190 Division III runners. The Pointers' top 14 runners did not participate in the event.

Elsewhere, Ashley Clark (Mounds View, MN/Mounds View) finished 48th with a time of 26:24, Brittany Richard (Garden, MI/Big Bay De Noc) 52nd with a time of 26:42, Bethany Kautz (Bartlett, WI/Westminister Christian) 55th with a time of 26:47 and Cassandra Caine (Watertown, WI/Dodgeland) 57th in a time of 27:05 to round out the top five finishers for UWSP.

The Pointers return to action on Friday, Sept. 21 at the Augustana Invitational in Rock Island, Ill.
