DE PERE, Wis. – The eighth-ranked UW-Stevens Point baseball team split a pair of nonconference games on Monday afternoon against the Green Knights of St. Norbert College. The host Knights won the opener 2-1 in 10 innings and the Pointers took the nightcap 10-3.

St. Norbert scored in the first inning and kept the Pointers down until the sixth when UWSP's
Justin Jirschele (Clintonville, WI/Clintonville) singled home
Ryan Schilter (West Bend, WI/West), knotting the score at 1-1.
In extras, the Green Knights put runners on first and second with two outs and a single by Garrick Fisher drove in the game-winner.
JP Feyereisen (River Falls, WI/River Falls) threw eight innings, scattering six hits and allowing just one run, striking out six.
Ryan Iverson (Eau Claire, WI/Eau Claire North) suffered the loss, throwing 1.2 innings in relief, walking two.
In game two, the Green Knights took a 2-0 lead after the second inning but the Pointers battled back, scoring one run in the third and five in the fifth to take a 6-2 lead.
SNC got one run back in the seventh, but a run in the eighth and three in the ninth to secure the 10-3 victory.
Sean Gerber (Stoughton, WI/Stoughton) was 2-for-4 with two RBIs while
Jimmy Coady (La Crosse, WI/Aquinas) and
Casey Barnes (Mequon, WI/Homestead) each collected two hits.
Tyler Flood (Madison, WI/La Follette) earned the victory, scattering eight hits over 6.1 innings, striking out three.
Matt Freeman (Green Bay, WI/Southwest) and
Kenneth Chiu (Hong Kong/St. Joseph's College) also threw in the victory.
UW-Stevens Point (13-7) returns to action on Wednesday, April 11 with a pair of Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games at UW-Oshkosh. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
