AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The UW-Stevens Point baseball team posted runs in every inning but one on Monday afternoon to blow past Fontbonne 14-3 in a run-shortened seven inning game at Lake Myrtle Field.

After a surrendering a run in the top of the first, the Pointers hung five runs on the board sparked by a three-run triple by
Ryan Schilter (West Bend, WI/West).
The Pointers added a run in both the second and third innings and scored three in the fourth inning thanks to a
Sean Gerber (Stoughton, WI/Stoughton) two-RBI single.
A neither team scored runs in the fifth and UWSP pulled away in the sixth with another four-run inning.
Kenneth Chiu (Hong Kong/St. Joseph's College) and
Zach Wendorf (Merrill, WI/Merrill) combined to pitch a scoreless seventh and secure the run-rule victory.
Tyler Flood (Madison, WI/La Follette) earned the victory, throwing five innings of five-hit baseball, striking out five while surrendering just two earned runs.
JP Feyereisen (River Falls, WI/River Falls) also threw a scoreless inning in relief.
Offensively, Gerber finished the day 4-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored.
Cody Hanke (Marathon, WI/Marathon) finished the day 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
No. 5 UW-Stevens Point (5-1) will have an off day on Tuesday and returns to action on Wednesday with a single, nine-inning contest against Ramapo. Game time is scheduled for 10 a.m. eastern.
