WHITEWATER, Wis. –
Joe Mileski (Gladstone, MI/Gladstone) and
Ben Strobel (Neenah, WI/Neenah) earned bids to the NCAA Division III Championship as the UW-Stevens Point wrestling team finished third at the 2012 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship Sunday afternoon.
UW-Whitewater won the championship, its 13th in league history, with 108.5 points, 14-time defending champion UW-La Crosse finished second with 96 points. The Pointers collected 70.5 points to finish third, UW-Oshkosh was fourth with 66 points, UW-Eau Claire finished fifth with 14 points and UW-Platteville finished sixth with nine points.
Mileski finished as the league's runner-up at 133 pounds, falling to champion Adam Sheley of UW-La Crosse 8-0 in the finals.
Strobel also finished as a runner-up on the afternoon, falling by a score of 22-9 to Nazar Keuchytskyy of UW-Oshkosh.

Dustin Wozniak (Stanley, WI/Stanley-Boyd) finished third at 197 and
Matt Cuadra (Oshkosh, WI/West) was third at 285.
Strobel and Mileski were chosen as wild card representatives to the National Championship held in La Crosse, Wis., March 9-10.
At the conclusion of the meet, Borchardt was named to the WIAC All-Sportsmanship Team, which was chosen for individuals that displayed exemplary sportsmanship throughout the season. It included one member from each school.
