EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team closed out the regular season with a 47-3 victory over the Blugolds of UW-Eau Claire on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Pointers jumped out to the early lead thanks to a forfeit win at 125 and then Joe Mileski (Gladstone, MI/Gladstone) and Jordan Kust (Clintonville, WI/Shawano) gave the Pointers six points each with pins over the Blugolds, giving UWSP an 18-0 advantage.
 
Jamy Simmons picked up his first collegiate victory at 149, giving UWSP a 21-0 edge and Jordan Schulte (Mosinee, WI/Mosinee) and Ryan Conat (New London, WI/New London) each tallied victories to push the UWSP lead to 35-0.
 
UW-Eau Claire's lone victory came at 184 pounds, but Dustin Wozniak (Stanley, WI/Stanley-Boyd) and Matt Cuadra (Oshkosh, WI/West) closed out the dual with pin fall victories to seal the 47-3 win.
 
UW-Stevens Point takes to the mat next at the 2012 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship, hosted by UW-Whitewater, on Sunday, Feb. 26.
