PULASKI, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team won its first head-to-head matchup of the season when it dominated Lakeland College Thursday, 40-7.

A trio of Pointers won by fall, starting with Ben Strobel (Neenah, WI/Neenah) who pinned his opponent in 2:56 at 157-pounds.

Ryan Conat (New London, WI/New London) and Jordan Koranda (Marshfield, WI/Marshfield) also won by fall at 174-pounds and 285-pounds, respectively.

Jordan Kust (Clintonville, WI/Shawano) won by major decision, posting a 10-0 score at 141-pounds.

Both Dan Irwin (Pulaski, WI/Pulaski) and Lance Fabry (Ashwaubenon, WI/Ashwaubenon) wrestled their way to a win in their respective weight class.

UWSP opens its home schedule with the Pointer Open Saturday, Nov. 10 at Stevens Point Area Senior High starting at 9 a.m.
