PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point wrestling team collected 216.5 team points on Saturday, cruising to a first-place finish out of six teams at the 2012 Lakeland College Muskie Invite.

"We achieved what we wanted to today," said head coach
Johnny Johnson. "We wrestled with intensity and put a lot of guys in the finals."
Lance Fabry (Ashwaubenon, WI/Ashwaubenon) and
Jordan Kust (Clintonville, WI/Shawano) both wrestled through their respective weight classes and posted major decision in the championship matches to collect wins for the Pointers.
Ryan Conat (New London, WI/New London) and
Jordan Koranda (Marshfield, WI/Marshfield) also earned first-place finishes at 174 pounds and 285 pounds, respectively.
Shane Sweeney (Madison, WI/Edgewood) and
Ben Strobel (Neenah, WI/Neenah) finished as co-champs at 157 pounds.
Jordan Shulte and
Andy Borchardt (Edgar, WI/Edgar) each placed second at 165 pounds and 184 pounds, respectively.
Bill Langford (Westosha, WI/Westosha Central) placed third for UWSP at 174 pounds and
Dustin Wozniak (Stanley, WI/Stanley-Boyd) also placed third at 197 pounds.
The Pointers open the dual portion if their schedule when they travel to Pulaski, Wis., for a meet against Lakeland College on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.
