ST. PETER, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team battled back from a 2-0 deficit in the first period to earn a 3-2 win over Gustavus Friday night.

Kyle Heck (Plover, WI/SPASH) put the Pointers (2-2-0) on the board less than one minute into the second period, cutting the Gusties' lead to 2-1.
Later in the period
Garrett Ladd (Fenton, MI/Fenton) evened the score when he netted a power play goal assisted by Heck.
Five minutes into the third period Heck tallied the game-winning goal.
Brandon Jaeger (Champlin, MN/Champlin Park) recorded 22 saves for the Pointers to earn the win.
UWSP outshot Gustavus (2-1-0), 29-24.
Nick Kenney (Wixom, MI/Walled Lake Western) led the Pointers with five shots on goal.
The Pointers travel to Minneapolis, Minn. Saturday to square off against Augsburg. Faceoff is set for 7 p.m.
