MEQUON, Wis. –
Ryan Conat (New London, WI/New London) captured the 174-pound championship on Saturday afternoon to lead the Pointers at the 20th annual Concordia Open Wrestling Tournament inside the R. John Buuck Fieldhouse.

The event was host to over 400 wrestlers competing in one of the largest early-season events in the nation. Ten ranked teams from two NCAA divisions and several ranked individuals participated in the event.
Conat won the 174-pound championship going 5-0 on the day, finishing in front of the nation's fifth-ranked wrestler in his weight class.
Jordan Schulte (Mosinee, WI/Mosinee) posted a second place finish at 165 pounds, recording two major decisions out of four victories before falling 5-1 in the championship match.
Elsewhere,
Jordan Kust (Clintonville, WI/Shawano),
Dustin Wozniak (Stanley, WI/Stanley-Boyd), and
Jordan Koranda (Marshfield, WI/Marshfield) each battled their way to third-place finishes at their respective weight classes.
Jamey Simmons (Abbotsford, WI/Abbotsford) posted a fifth-place finish at 157-pounds, wrestling his way through 10 matches on the day.
The Pointers return to action on Nov. 27 with a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference dual against UW-Oshkosh. Action gets underway at 7 p.m. in Berg Gym.
