STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team built an early 2-0 lead on Saturday evening, only to see the UW-River Falls Falcons fight their way back and force a 2-2 stalemate at K.B. Willett Arena.

Johnny Meo (Vernon Hills, IL/Ursuline) started the scoring at the 9:15 mark of the opening period, recording his third goal of the season to give UWSP the 1-0 edge.
Meo added his second goal of the game at the 13:29 mark of the first period, this time off an assist from
Tyler Krueger (Stevens Point, WI/SPASH), giving the Pointers a 2-0 lead.
The Falcons cut the deficit in half, 2-1, with a goal by Alec Hagaman in the second, and a short-handed goal at the 13:05 mark of the third by Goeff Shewmake knotted the score at 2-2, forcing overtime.
In the overtime period, neither team was able to push across a goal, and the teams skated to a 2-2 tie.
UWSP's
Brandon Jaeger (Champlin, MN/Champlin Park) made 12 saves while River Falls' Soctt Lewan made 21.
UW-Stevens Point (4-4-1, 1-4-1 NCHA) returns to action with a pair of games against league-leader UW-Eau Claire Nov. 30 & Dec. 1.
