STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point football team lost its final game of the season Saturday, falling to No. 12 UW-Platteville 57-7.

The Pioneers (8-2, 5-2 WIAC) built a 17-0 lead early in the second quarter when Pointers defensive back
Colton Zimmerman (Iola, WI/Iola-Scandinavia) intercepted Bryce Corrigan and returned the pick 84 yards for the touchdown.
Zimmerman's touchdown marks the third time this season the UWSP (2-8, 1-6 WIAC) defense has returned an interception for a touchdown.
Aaron Karlen (Edgar, WI/Edgar) led the Pointers defense with 16 tackles (11 solo, five assisted), while
James Sladek (Merrill, WI/Merrill) and
Skylar Stecker (Hilbert, WI/Hilbert) followed with 11 apiece.
Sladek also recorded 3.5 tackles for a loss.
Mitch Klapper (Green bay/Ashwaubenon) chipped in with a sack for the Pointers.
