LISLE, Ill. – In its first matches since winning the 2012 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title Wednesday, the UW-Stevens Point volleyball team won the first two games of the Benedictine University Tournament Friday.

The Pointers started the tournament with a 3-0 win over Concordia-Chicago, 25-12, 25-12, 25-18.

Seven Pointers recorded a service ace in the win as Cassidy Kohlhagen (Racine, WI/Union Grove) led the team with two.

In the second match UWSP defeated North Central 25-21, 25-17, 25-22.

Hannah Picel (West Bend, WI/West Bend West) led the team with 18 digs, and Ally Groth (Germantown, WI/Germantown) and Kohlhagen added 13 and 12, respectively.

UWSP concludes the tournament and regular season Saturday with matches against North Park and Benedictine.
