WAUKESHA, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team dropped its last regular-season game Thursday evening, falling to Carroll University, 3-1.

The host Pioneers took a 3-0 lead into halftime, outshooting the Pointers 6-2 in the first period.
The Pointers defense shut Carroll down in the second period, only allowing two shots.
In the 63rd minute senior
Sarah Gugel (Waunakee, WI/Waunakee) scored her first goal of the season, and the Pointers only goal of the evening, off a free kick from 25 yards out.
Kristen Churkey (Mosinee, WI/D.C. Everest) recorded two saves in net for the Pointers while her counterpart, Kate Maxwell, recorded three.
UW-Stevens Point returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 30 as it hosts the first round of the 2012 WIAC Tournament. Having secured the No. 3 seed, the Pointers will host a yet to be determined opponent at 2 p.m.
