ELMHURST, Ill. – The UW-Stevens Point volleyball team split its first two games of the Elmhurst College Tournament Friday.
The Pointers defeated Wheaton (Ill.) in their first match, 3-2 (19-25, 21-25, 25-18, 25-15, 15-10), but later fell to No. 10 Elmhurst, 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-22).
Morgan Bartkowiak (Slinger, WI/Slinger) led the Pointers with 14 total blocks (two solo, 12 assisted) in the win over Wheaton, and
Hannah Picel (West Bend, WI/West Bend West) added a team-high 14 digs.
In the loss to Elmhurst, Picel led UWSP with 18 digs, followed by
Kati Rau (Dorchester, WI/Colby) with 13.
The Pointers round out the Elmhurst College Tournament Saturday with a 9 a.m. match against Haverford and a match scheduled for 11 a.m. against Millikin.
