Pointers volleyball wins final two games of UW-Stout Tournament

MENOMONIE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point volleyball team rounded out the UW-Stout Tournament with wins over St. Olaf and St. Mary's Saturday.

The Pointers (19-5, 5-1 WIAC) defeated St. Olaf in four sets, 25-23, 23-25, 25-13, 25-17.

Christina Brinkman (Bristol, WI/Westosha Central) led all players with 22 kills and added 10 digs.

Hannah Picel (West Bend, WI/West Bend West) led all players with 16 digs while Alexis Hartman (Deer Park, IL/Lake Zurich) recorded a game-high 47 assists.

UWSP topped St. Mary's in four sets, 25-16, 25-19, 26-28, 25-23.

Brinkman once again led the way in kills with 20. She and Hartman added 17 digs apiece, while Picel tallied 21.

The Pointers won three of their four matches during the weekend's tournament.  

UWSP returns home to Berg Gym when it hosts UW-Platteville Tuesday, Oct. 16 for the Pink Match at 7 p.m.
