MENOMONIE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point volleyball team split its first two games of the UW-Stout Tournament Friday, defeating St. Catherine 3-1 (22-25, 25-20, 25-22, 25-18) and falling to St. Benedict 3-2 (25-27, 25-17, 25-22, 19-25, 13-13\5).

In the loss to St. Benedict, Hannah Picel (West Bend, WI/West Bend West) led the Pointers with 34 digs and Christina Brinkman (Bristol, WI/Westosha Central) followed with 24.

Morgan Bartkowiak (Slinger, WI/Slinger) led UWSP with 11 kills and three service aces.

The Pointers round out the weekend's tournament Saturday with a 10 a.m. match against St. Olaf and a 12 p.m. match with St. Mary's.
