WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The 25th-ranked UW-Stevens Point wrestling team finished eighth this weekend at the 24th annual Budd Whitehill Duals hosted by Lycoming College.
 
 After going 1-1 on day one, UWSP started day two with a win over Thiel before losing to Messiah and Wabash.

Ben Strobel (Neenah, WI/Neenah) led the Pointers on the day, going a perfect 3-0 at 157 pounds. Strobel defeated Thiel's Ryan Carson 7-0, Messiah's Chris Hardenberg 6-0 and Wabash's Josh Sampson 4-2.
 
Jordan Kust (Clintonville, WI/Shawano), Dustin Wozniak (Stanley, WI/Stanley-Boyd) and Matt Cuadra (Oshkosh, WI/West) also stood out for UWSP, each recording two wins.
 
Kust defeated Jerry Cramer of Thiel 8-2 and Colin Downey of Wabash 1-0.
 
Wozniak tallied wins over Pat Morris of Thiel with a fall at 5:25 and Travis Ebersole of Messiah due to an injury at 3:45.
 
Cuadra recorded wins over Thiel's Will Ringer 3-2 and Wabash's Ryan Sanwith 8-0 with a major decision.
 
UWSP will return to the mat January 21 when it travels to Whitewater for the Border Brawl. Action begins at noon.
