ST. PETER, Minn. – Angela Gallow (Menasha, WI/Menasha) scored the Pointers first goal of the 2011 season on Saturday afternoon as the UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team defeated Gustavus Adolphus 1-0. The win evens the Pointers record on the season at 1-1 while Gustavus falls to 0-2. 

Gallow scored the only goal of the afternoon in the game's 40th minute off a cross from teammate Sarah Vitale (River Falls, WI/River Falls). 

Brittany Marx (Washburn, WI/Washburn) stopped all three Gustavus shots on net to earn her first shutout of the season. 

The Pointers will now return to Stevens Point and open the home portion of their 2011 season on Saturday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. as they host Luther College at the Point Soccer Bowl. The Pointers will also celebrate Parents Day on Saturday.
