LA CROSSE – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team continued their winning ways as they defeated UW-La Crosse 2-1 in overtime Wednesday.

Junior Sammy Greer (Rubicon, WI/Hartford) scored both goals for the Pointers as she tallied her fourth and fifth goals of the season.

Greer recorded her first goal as she found the back of the net in the 61st minute on an assist by Lauryn Semling (Plover, WI/SPASH). UW-La Crosse responded with an unassisted goal from Saskia Taylor to lock the game at one apiece.

Greer struck again in overtime, this time assisted by Angela Gallow (Menasha, WI/Menasha), to give the Pointers the victory.

Brittany Marx (Washburn, WI/Washburn) added four saves for the Pointers.

UWSP (7-2, 3-0 WIAC) will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 1 with a road contest at UW-River Falls. Kick-off is set for 2 p.m.
