STEVENS POINT – Freshman
Sarah Wildish (Menomonee Falls, WI/Menomonee Falls) tallied a career-high 19 kills for the UW-Stevens Point volleyball team as the Pointers came from behind to defeat the league-leading Titans of UW-Oshkosh 3-2 on Wednesday evening.
The Pointers, who won the opening set 25-23, dropped sets two and three, 23-25, 21-25, before rebounding with a pair of victories 25-14, 15-10 for the team's third conference victory of the season.
Wildish also recorded career-highs in digs (23) and block assists (4) on the evening to help UWSP to the conference victory.
Teammate
Christina Brinkman (Bristol, WI/Westosha Central) added 19 kills of her own on the night and chipped in with 15 digs.
Morgan Bartkowiak (Slinger, WI/Slinger) added seven kills on 28 attempts and recorded 13 blocks, 11 assisted, to help defeat UWO.
Jordyn Bartel led the Titans with 17 kills.
UW-Stevens Point (10-6, 3-1 WIAC) moves into first place in the WIAC, holding the head-to-head tiebreak against UW-Whitewater.
UWSP returns to action with a pair of nonconference games on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at home against Lawrence and St. Norbert. Action in Berg Gym begins at 5:30 p.m.
