STEVENS POINT – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team faced the third-ranked Wheaton (Ill.) Thunder in a non-conference match-up and fell 3-0 Wednesday afternoon in Stevens Point.

Keri Shannon put the Thunder on the board with a first period goal as they took a 1-0 edge into halftime.

In the second period, Sarah Guidera and Annie Hamilton added goals to secure the seventh victory of the season for Wheaton.

Brittany Marx (Washburn, WI/Washburn) posted nine saves in the loss.

UW-Stevens Point (5-2) will return to action in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup with UW-Superior on Saturday afternoon in Stevens Point. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
