Haen qualifies for Nationals as Pointers finish fifth

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Kelly Haen (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) finished 11th in a field of 264 individuals and qualified individually for the 2011 NCAA Division III Championship and paced the UW-Stevens Point women's cross country team to a fifth place finish at the 2011 NCAA Division III Midwest Regionals at Saukie Golf Course.

Haen posted a time of 22:18.6 on her way to the 11th place showing at the event, earning All-Midwest Region honors.  Joining her on the All-Midwest Region team by way of a top-35 finish was Julia Colling (Maplewood, MN/North) who finished 20th with a time of 22:41.6 and Annie Olson (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater) who finished 29th with a time of 22:52.3.

Rounding out the top five for the Pointers was Haley Steig (Osseo, WI/Osseo-Fairchild) who finished 57th and Lauren Dilley (Middleton, WI/Middleton) who finished 71st.

Also running at the event, Elizabeth Nelson (Waupaca, WI/Iola-Scandinavia) and Katie Larson (Milwaukee, WI/West Allis Central), who finished 92nd and 121st, respectively.

Haen will head to the NCAA Division III Championship in Winneconne, Wis. on Nov. 19 at the Lake Breeze Golf Course.
